Wednesday, November 1, 2017

Note to Editors: The 2nd Annual EMS Survivor's Reunion will be 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8 in Walnut Creek. For event details or to arrange coverage, contact Michelle Voos at Michelle.Voos@hsd.cccounty.us or 925-313-9547.

The Contra Costa Emergency Medical Services Agency (EMS), a division of Contra Costa Health Services, will host its second annual EMS Survivors' Reunion on Nov. 8 to connect survivors of catastrophic medical emergencies and the first responders and civilian bystanders who rescued them.

More than 1,000 Contra Costa EMS providers, including emergency ambulance crews, firefighters and hospital emergency department staffs, serve more than 98,000 patients in need of immediate life-saving care each year.

During a ceremony at The Clubhouse at Boundary Oak in Walnut Creek, six survivors will meet their rescuers and have a chance to thank them.

The event will also include awards for first responders recognized for exemplary service in Contra Costa County, and a special recognition for first responders and healthcare volunteers from Contra Costa, Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Solano counties who selflessly served communities affected by the recent North Bay fires.
