The grand opening celebration for the new, larger site of the Antioch Health Center will be held February 17, from noon to 1:30 p.m.

The event will include tours of the new building, which will have nearly twice as many exam rooms as the previous site on Lone Tree Way.

Speakers will include Congressman Jerry McNerney, Contra Costa Health Services Director Dr. William Walker, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center & Health Centers CEO Anna Roth and Contra Costa Behavioral Health Director Cynthia Belon. The speaking program will begin at 12:30 p.m.

"I am grateful for the opening of this new Health Center, which will expand access to health care in East County. I am particularly proud of the opportunity for further integration of physical and behavioral health services, which is so necessary for truly addressing the needs of our patients," Dr. Walker said.

The new facility will provide primary medical care and children's behavioral healthcare under one roof (East County Child and Adolescent Services will also relocate to the new site) and continues Contra Costa Health Services' commitment to integrating behavioral and physical healthcare to better serve patients.

The center will begin receiving patients on February 23.

"This is a great day for the people of Antioch, the greater Contra Costa region, and our Ninth Congressional District. I believe that access to quality health care is an important building block that helps our community prosper and grow. This new Antioch Health Center is larger, with the capacity to provide medical care to more patients seeking care. I am confident that this health center will help improve community health and be a valuable resource that will serve people for years to come," said Rep. McNerney.

The expanded site will help CCHS meet growing demand for healthcare in the East County area and will provide double the number of medical exam rooms.

The new facility is 2335 Country Hills Drive, Antioch (across from the Seventh-Day Adventist Church) is one of 11 health centers operated by CCHS.
