Community invited to Emergency Preparedness Event in Bay Point May 30

WHAT
The First A.M.E. Community Church of Bay Point will host an emergency preparedness conference with assistance from Contra Costa Health Services and its Medical Reserve Corps, the American Red Cross, Contra Costa CERT and the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff.
WHO:
All are welcome to attend this free event, with breakfast and lunch provided to the first 56 registrants.
WHEN:
8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 30.
WHERE:
Ambrose Recreation Center, 3105 Willow Pass Road, Bay Point.
WHY:
The purpose of the 1st Annual Emergency Preparedness Conference is to educate and empower East County residents about how to keep themselves and their loved ones safe in the event of a natural disaster or other emergency. Participants will learn about their community's disaster preparedness resources and how to create an effective personal disaster plan, said event coordinator Deborah Roberts, Health Ministry Coordinator at First AME Community Church in Bay Point.
