What

The Contra Costa Solid Waste Local Enforcement Agency seeks applicants to fill two vacancies on its newly established Independent Hearing Board. The board will meet as needed to hear matters related to solid waste enforcement, permits, and appeals. The panel only meets as needed. There has not been a hearing in the county in several years. When one is needed, a hearing may require half a day to several days to complete.

Who:

The board requires a general member of the public who resides in Contra Costa County, and a technical expert with knowledge of solid waste management, technology, and laws.

Why:

To participate in civic governance. It’s also a good opportunity to learn more about the solid waste industry.

Applications must be received by Jan. 17, 2013. Interested parties can submit applications for the LEA Independent Hearing Panel to Dorothy Sansoe, Deputy County Administrator, Contra Costa County – County Administrator’s Office, 651 Pine St., 10th Floor, Martinez, CA 94553.
