What:

Project Homeless Connect is a one-day event to help homeless residents of Contra Costa County become self-sufficient. The annual event usually draws 1,000 or more people who need food, medical and dental care, haircuts, pet care, shelter, state identification cards and many other services.

All of those services are available in one place at Project Homeless Connect, which also features Clean Slate, a program that offers advice and assistance with criminal records that can present barriers to employment and housing. Community Homeless Court, a program that helps homeless people resolve outstanding minor offenses that often arise from being homeless, will also be in session Oct. 9 at the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds.

Project Homeless Connect is proud to enroll consumers in affordable health insurance, made possible under the Affordable Care Act.

Who:

Contra Costa Behavioral Health Services, community based organizations and numerous volunteers are working with elected leaders including state assembly members Jim Frazier, Joan Buchanan, and Nancy Skinner and Contra Costa Supervisor Federal Glover to deliver these much-needed services to those who need them.

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9 Contra Costa County Fairgrounds, 1201 West 10th Street, Antioch
