Free Smoking Cessation Course Offered at the Pittsburg Health Center

What:
Anyone can get help quitting smoking in seven weeks with help from the "Freedom From Smoking" cessation program developed by the American Lung Association. This weekly class will be offered at the Pittsburg Health Center beginning Aug. 28.
Who:
This free course is open to anyone 18 or older who wants to quit smoking.
When:
The class meets from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, beginning Aug. 28 and ending Oct. 9.
Where:
Pittsburg Health Center, 2311 Loveridge Road, Pittsburg

Why:
Tobacco use remains the leading preventable cause of death in the United States, causing more than 440,000 deaths each year and resulting in an annual cost of more than $75 billion in direct medical costs.
