The board advises the Director of Public Health for Contra Costa Health Services and the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors. Speakers at the 25th anniversary event include local health officials and original board members.

Speakers are Contra Costa Health Services Director Dr. William Walker, Public Health Director Dr. Wendel Brunner, the board's first Executive Assistant Marice Ashe, longtime board member Art Hatchett and current Chairperson Marj Leeds.
