Contra Costa Mental Health Seeks Members for Advisory Group

February 2, 2009

What:

Contra Costa Health Services´ Mental Health Division is seeking membership applications for its newly formed Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Consolidated Planning Advisory Workgroup (CPAW). This group will replace previous MHSA workgroups. Former workgroup participants are encouraged to apply. CPAW will help plan future MHSA efforts and will advise the Mental Health Division on how to integrate MHSA principles and practices. This group gives members from the mental health community an opportunity to provide input for system growth and change.

When and Where:

Applications are available on the Contra Costa Health Services website, www.cchealth.org. Completed applications should be submitted either in hard copy or electronically; faxes will not be accepted. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Monday, February 16. Send applications by mail to:

MHSA — Consolidated Planning Advisory Workgroup Application
Contra Costa Mental Health Administration
1340 Arnold Drive, Suite 200
Martinez, CA 94553

Or by email to: mhsa@hsd.cccounty.us

Why:

CPAW will streamline MHSA community planning input and processes, while acting as a solitary advisory body as the MHSA planning voice. MHSA, which was approved by California voters as Prop. 63 in 2004, levies a 1% tax on individuals with a taxable annual income of more than $1 million. The Act provides funding, support and other resources for county health departments.
