Music and Art Show Reveals County Health Care Workers' Creative Side

What:

The fourth annual "Healthcare Workers as Creators" festival features musical performances and artwork by county health care workers and includes a silent art auction. Performers include San Pablo City Councilman Arturo Cruz's "Hiz-Kids" hip-hop group and CCHS substance abuse specialist Tommy Nunnelly. The event is free and open to the public. Food and drinks will be provided.

When:

5 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2009

Where:

Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC), outside lawn, 2500 Alhambra Avenue, Martinez.

Why:

The event celebrates health care workers as artists and raises money for Frontline Richmond, a grassroots antiviolence program in Richmond. Both ArtsChange and the CCHS Medical Staff will be sponsoring the event. ArtsChange is a nonprofit organization that works on environmental justice and youth empowerment in Richmond and grew out of the Richmond Health Center's Quilt of Many Colors Project.
