County Health Department Offers Free Immunizations for Children

What:

Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) will give free immunizations to children at two clinics this month to celebrate Toddler Immunization Month.

Who:

Vaccinations will be given free to anyone under the age of 19.

When & Where:

1 to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 18
Concord Public Health
2355 Stanwell Circle, Concord

1 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27
Pittsburg Public Health
2311 Loveridge Road, Pittsburg

How:

Everyone is welcome at these clinics. Vaccinations will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parents are encouraged to bring their child's immunization record if possible. Flu vaccine will not be offered at these clinics. For more information about immunizations, visit www.cchealth.org or call CCHS Immunization Program at 925-313-6767.

Why:

These clinics provide children with their necessary vaccines. Currently there are vaccines to protect against many serious diseases, such as the measles, whooping cough, causes of pneumonia and others. Seasonal flu vaccine will not be available at these clinics. There currently is no vaccine for the H1N1 virus (swine flu).
