Healthy Neighborhoods Project and Partners Hosting Multicultural Family Fair July 30

For release July 6, 2005

What

The 4th Multicultural Children and Family Day Fair is sponsored by numerous local vendors and organizations, the office of County Supervisor John Gioia and Contra Costa Health Services' Healthy Neighborhoods Project Action Team. The public is invited to enjoy entertainment, games, information booths and refreshments.

When

Saturday, July 30, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where

North Richmond Center for Health & Family Service Center, 1535 Third St., Richmond

Who

All cultures of West Contra Costa County are invited to the fair, which is co-sponsored by numerous local grocery stores, other businesses and community groups.

Why

"West County is a melting pot, with no ethnic majority and sizeable populations of many different cultures. Celebrating this diversity helps people appreciate their own neighbors and neighborhoods," said Roxanne Carrillo, director of the Healthy Neighborhoods Project."This has been a very popular and well-attended event in past years. The HNP resident Action Team has advocated and organized continuously to sustain the yearly celebration and many community partners are pitching in to achieve the same success this year."
