Community Celebration of Oktoberfest Featuring the Hazardous Materials

What:

A community celebration of Oktoberfest featuring the Contra Costa Health Services Hazardous Materials Response truck and a display about the county’s Industrial Safety Ordinance, including information about the General Chemical Plant in Bay Point.

Where:

Ambrose Community Center, 3105 Willow Pass Road, Bay Point.

When:

Saturday, October 8, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Who:

The festival is sponsored by the Bay Point Municipal Advisory Council. The Hazardous Materials Response truck and Industrial Safety Ordinance display and information are presented by the Hazardous Materials Programs of Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS), the county health department.

Why:

"Many people in Bay Point may have questions about how safe the refineries and chemical plants in this area are, including General Chemical," said Randy Sawyer, Director of Hazardous Materials Programs for CCHS. "We’ll be at Oktoberfest to answer questions and distribute information about how safety audits and other elements of the Industrial Safety Ordinance protect residents and workers in Contra Costa County."
