What:

The West County Asthma Coalition will hold a community meeting to discuss the results of a recent diesel pollution study done in West Contra Costa County and a 3-year strategic plan that involves merging the West County and Contra Costa asthma coalitions.

When:

4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005

Where:

Near the Richmond Civic Center, 330 25th Street, Richmond. Enter the meeting room from the rear of the Richmond Library or the Richmond Senior Center.

Who:

The public is encouraged to attend the event, which is sponsored by the West County Asthma Coalition, Contra Costa Health Services, The California Endowment and Kaiser Permanente.

Why:

Learn about the disturbing results of the new diesel pollution study, Deluged by Diesel: Healthy Solutions for West County, and what can be done to deal with the health threat. Also get involved in strategic planning for the West County Asthma Coalition, which is an inclusive, broad-based partnership of organizations and individuals whose mission is to strengthen West Contra Costa County's ability to prevent asthma and improve the lives of people affected by asthma.
