Press Release
Managed Care Commission Seeks Three New Members
August 10, 2004
Applications are being sought for three vacant seats - two at-large and one CCHP Medi-Cal - in the Contra Costa Managed Care Commission (MCC).
The MCC is the principal advisory body to the Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP), the HMO operated by the county. MCC addresses health concerns for the Medi-Cal, Medicare, Commercial and Medically Indigent populations served by the county, providing recommendations that reflect the needs and diversity of these populations to CCHP and other county entities (the Board of Supervisors, the health department and others).
Applicants must live or work in Contra Costa County; appointments are for three-year terms; commission seats are voluntary, unpaid positions, although the CCHP Medi-Cal seat carries a small stipend; the applicant for the CCHP Medi-Cal seat must be a CCHP Medi-Cal member; members are required to attend MCC meetings, which take place six times a year (every other month).
Deadline for applications is August 20.
For more information about MCC or to download an application form (89k PDF, 1p.), go online to cchealth.org.
