Pediatric Flu Shots Now Available at Contra Costa Immunization Clinics

November 1, 2004

Children aged six months to 18 years can now get the flu vaccine at all Contra Costa Public Health Immunization Clinics. There is enough vaccine for this particular priority group, defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as:

  • All children aged 6-23 months
  • Children aged 2-18 years with underlying chronic medical conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, heart and kidney disease, sickle cell anemia and others
  • The flu shots cost $5, but no one will be denied if they're unable to pay
  • Parents are also encouraged to bring their children's immunization records so their children can get other required vaccinations and get their records updated
