What:

Contra Costa County residents are invited to attend the open house celebration of the new and exciting Consumer Health Library.

The Consumer Health Library will have easy-to-read health-related books, pamphlets, handouts and videotapes.

Users will have access to the MedlinePlus database, which contains information on health topics, drugs, current health news, and directories of health related services.

Health information in Spanish will also be offered.

Medical library staff and trained volunteers will teach consumers to use the computers in searching for health information.

When:

The grand opening will be held September 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Who:

The Consumer Health Library is open to patients and general public free of charge.

The Consumer Health Library is operated by Contra Costa Health Services and made possible by a grant from the National Library of Medicine and a grant from Contra Costa Regional Medical Center Auxiliary.
